Does anyone know if your lawyer gets tour habitation licence when you are buting a property in portugal

your lawyer certainly shouldn,t be making any purchase without one!

unless your buying a ruin then its ok...

older properties pre 1951 may not have a habitation license but you do need a letter from the council to say that it doesnt require a habitation license because its pre 1951. so in that case you wont have the license but dont worry, your solicitor or agent will explain about this and get the relevent paperwork.
