Default irrigation

i am looking after next doors garden and pool whilst the owners are away but seem to be having problems with the garden irrigation.
the rainbird computer has the right time on it and watering days, times etc. but when the water comes on it dribbles out of pop-ups without much power. the blue tap is turned on as is the main one but still no luck! any suggestions as to the problem? thanks

Is there a pump that should be working as well? Have you checked how much force comes out of the other taps?

hi joao

there is plenty of pressure on the taps for hoses, no link obviously!
you can hear a great surge of water pumping through pipes when i release blue tap slightly... im thinkin could it be the pop-ups could be blocked, surely not all of them though!!!

I have this problem when the filter inside the head of the pop-up becomes blocked with (in my case) sediment from the bore hole. Clear it by unscrewing the top of the popup and you should see the top of a small blue filter inside the tube. It's about 1/4" diameter and 1.5" long. Pull it out and - if clogged - blow through with a hose. I've started removing mine since the sediment just gets blown out with the water. If not - this is clearly not the problem. Is there another filter in the system? Usually a disc filter just after the pump and before the water feed separates into the various zones (if you have more than one zone). This unscrews (with some difficulty) and may also be clogged.

Good luck.
