Good luck for 2016
or roughly translated "May we all be alive at this time next year!"

Sadly, magellen, cúpla focal just about sums it up ...... would that I could speak it as well as I can now speak Portuguese, but those days are gone. But I still love the sound and the energy it gives our speech.
I never was set up for an Fáinne, nua or otherwise. Now I remember just enough Munster gaelic to get me in trouble with the Dublin-based purists...... "It's Irish not gaelic, you know....." they tell me .... "conas a déarfá sin as gaeilge", says I

After Paschendale and Gallipoli, he was transferred to the reserve battalion at home in Limerick with yellow fever and dysentery, just in time to be kept in barracks as "untrustworthy" during the Anglo-Irish war
They sure knew how to motivate and reward people in those days!
