Is it actually grown in Portugal? I don't really see anything suggesting that it is.....
But if so, try the Saturday market in Olhao, ask for jaca or jaqueira and expect to be a suspect Brazilian.....

Jackfruit is tropical; we get other tropical fruits so it's not impossible, but I've never seen it anywhere in Europe.
I had a huge jackfruit tree in my garden in India. Gets ripe in the hot season before monsoon, like the mangoes.

If the vendors in Olhao market don't sell tem or know about them, then I'd guess they're not commercially available.

I've realised it's pretty impossible to get fresh Jackfruit and I'll hopefully get some from Apolonia in Almancil or on-line.
