Faro Flights January
This may be an annual occurance and I have never been out in January before but there appears to be no flights Faro / Liverpool for the majority of January until mid February.
I was going to spend all of Jan doing some much needed DIY around the property ( need to be back by February for things in UK).
I could understand a much reduced service but absolutely nothing astounds me. Is this normal?

We had Ryanair flights booked from Faro to Leeds Bradford for January. Received email in September to notify us that from November 2019 all flights from Leeds Bradford to Faro were cancelled. Start up again end March, so this might be the same scenario for you. Amazingly they reimbursed us the flight cost plus the difference in price we had to pay to get back with another carrier, was pleasantly surprised!

Would it be possible for you to consider Ryanair flights from Manchester ?

We have got used to Liverpool and I have to admit the last time I went to Ringway I was a bit overawed.
Also Manchester flights look very scarce also in January, just one up at the moment.

Re: Faro Flights January
Ryanair has had to drop frequencies & routes owing to the delay in delivery of up to a hundred new Boeing 737 Max aircraft after the debacle with that model.
Given the US FAA have not yet approved the model to re-start commercial operations, many airlines are having to reduce routes, route capacity and new routes. Pilots & aircrew are being laid off as well.
This is a new dispensation and we may have to put up with it for another year at least.

That could be a good plan.

Another route, which might be feasible is flying into Seville.

Re: Faro Flights January
Used to do Seville quite often back in the day and hire a car. However am going to stay about a month so it would be a waste of car hire money to be honest, just sitting outside whilst I am doing my DIY.
It would appear it is only northern UK airports that are having a "flight drought"
I looked at Bristol today and they still had quite a lot of flights, as I feel sure the London airports would have.
Anyway thanks for all the suggestions but have decided to leave the DIY until March which will also be a bit warmer.

Easyjet still fly Liverpool to Faro and RyanAir via Dublin only adds 2 extra hours.
We have the same problem, flying every 2 weeks through summer normally East Mids or Leeds, Manchester through the winter. But this year Manchester flights drop to just one per week from January on a Saturday. We've ended up with Ryanair out and Jet2 back from Birmingham as our solution until the end of March when we get back to normal.

Just use the train station at Manchester Airport.
It is walking distance ( albeit quite a walk but with a goodly part of it on travelators ) . Trains to everywhere.
I have never tried to park at Man Air but you can see some of the park from the travelator level and it does look frightening.
