I live in the Algarve, and LOVE my curries..so husband and myself try out all the local indian restaurants. There are too many, of not to good a standard and none of them seem to make any money. They are always changing hands, chefs changing too often....I wouldn't back a venture like that.

Another one opening in São Brás on 16 May. Owned by the same people who run the Indian in Monte Gordo.

New Indian in Burgau which is apparently very nice, though the onion bhaji's are not quite what you get in the UK. Why is that? I often find that to be the case. Anyway, it is where Greens used to be according to my source!

In Monte Gordo is that the Indian near the Aparthotel just around the corner from Alisuper or the Goan which is superb?

There was a cheap and cheerful one in Nazare (Silver Coast) last summer. Despite being a big tourist destination (mainly for Portuguese and some French) it had closed by early August, smack bank in the middle of high season.

It was probably ahead of its time, as the ex-pat community is growing there, but still quite small.

I would say it would have to be a big city or the Algarve myself.
