Has anyone transferred money to a Portuguese bank using FairFX?

No but I use Caxton International Payment. Very quick and very very close to the bank rate. I opened an acct, did the £ to € deal the next day, sent the sterling funds on the Monday and by the following morning they said they received the £ in their UK acct and by the SAME afternoon the Portugal bank acknowledged receipt of the equivalent Euros. Brilliant. PS Don't do the £ to € rate setting online. Call them up and you get a better rate talking to a trader.

Personally I use Transferwise. They give the middle commercial rate and charge £1 up to £200 and thereafter 0.5%. I always end up with more € for £ in my bank than any other service I know. If anyone wants to try then if they click on the link below then they get their first transfer up to £3000 for free
