Default Enough of crayfish....what about cheese!

Due to spend the winter in Portugal again. Love Portuguese food and cooking, but despite this I still miss some british foods and one of these is good ol' cheshire cheese.
Anyone know the Portuguese equivalent ? Looked in the big supermarkets but can't seem to find anything similar to have for my cheese on toast. That flamengo stuff doesn't do the job!
Or does anyone know of any shops around Setubal that sells Uk food.
Awaiting your suggestions.........................

Lidl sell cheddar cheese as do some Intermarche & Continente plus you'll probably find at least 1 or 2 Brit food shops in the area.................. As for a Portuguese equivalent......... I reckon you can forget that idea........ There are 1 or 2 that share vague similarities but only VERY vague.

... 'fraid it's as mfesharne says, you can forget that idea, toots sweet.
Generally I've tried to forget about Brit fayre - it's one of the gains of being an expat, and from next March be realistic about it; - just regard UK tucker as something from a strange isolated culture; - though I shall miss my Fortnum & Mason Chrissie-hamper
Besides which - hard cheese is very bad for you - and TOAST

The larger Modelo and intermarche supermarkets have imported cheese sections, with overlapping choice.
check around the ones in your area, you'll probably find some cheese to suit your taste.

We also like a particular Dutch cheese, which I can get at the city supermarket but not the nearby one.

And there's "Iceland" supermarkets, they have a lot of UK cheese. But then you'll probably have to make a road trip of it.

He wrote Cheshire- not Cheddar. The OP can take cheese with him to Portugal, It freezes well enough for rarebit.

As liveaboard says there are two Iceland/Overseas in Algarve, one in Guia next to Allgarveshopping and one in Portimao next to the big Worten by Aqua Shopping. They sell Cheshire as I have bought it. They are also licensed to sell Waitrose products too.

It will be a Cheshire type cheese, like their own brand cheddar, nothing like the real thing.
Wyle Farms is the genuine article..

we ask visitors to bring out our favourite cheeses.

You can freeze certain cheeses. We freeze cheddar.

I understand that crayfish make a good substitute if Cheddarshire is not available.

For all that I love crayfish ... it won't go well on me toast and worcestershire sauce!!!
To everyone else.. thanks for the help.Looks like i'll have to do without my Cheshire. The Algarve 's going to be a bit expensive to travel to from Setubal.
Might try some hard goat's cheese.......

Is it made in Somerset , from milk produced by UK farmers in Somerset , otherwise it is not cheddar but cheddar type cheese, just like that made in Poland and other sources..
Sainsbury's west country cheddar is just about acceptable...
