Hi All,

Am thinking of inviting some UK friends to stay in our place in Tavira in January and play some Golf. Bearing in mind the current (adverse) GBP/Euro forex rates, any suggestions on courses where they could get some discounted tee times in East Algarve would be most welcome.

January is probably the cheapest month to play, in the east Monte Rei is by far the most expensive but the others reasonable.
Be prepared for very large groups from Norther Europe where winter restricts their golf.
There are lots of sites offering discounts but we just call the courses.
Here in the more expensive west we will pay between 38 - 60 for a round depending on

Just over the bridge in Spain Costa Esuri is a nice course and good value.
It has a nice restaurant that does special deals some days

Chris is a pro attacted to Quinta do Vale where I play. He has deals with most courses on the Algarve and round to Cadiz in Spain.

Many courses on the East Algarve are very busy due to the normal Algarve destinations being overfull

Probably the worst thing to do is contact courses direct as you will get rack rate

Just don't invite them then everybody is happy, you don't have to give up half your house and listen to them boring the arse off you about how they missed the seventeenth green by the width of a McDonald's double cheeseburger whilst sporting nonsense clothes matched with white ankle socks.
