A married couple want to visit me in Portugal.
They are both Chinese and live permanently in UK .
They are married but one of them holds a British passport , and the other a Chinese passport, and that person has a Permanent right of residency in UK.
Would the Chinese Passport holder need a Schengen visa to enter Portugal?

Hi. I assumed that it would be needed, but not sure with relationship.
Looked on the web for some help for them and it looks like they would have to go to Porto Embassy to make the application?
Is that for real?
And then pay £80 for it ?
What a joke, for just a week there, or I suppose any schengen country.

I dont get it why are you complicating things.
As 3rd country national, its nationality stated in your passport and issuing authority that matters for travel.
Unless married to EU national (and travel with), or one holds one of EU residency cards.
All info is on PT consular website, states in black and white who does or doesn't need visa for travel.

Why is it a joke? Visa can be for multiple entries. Someone needs to pay for processing of visa.
Why is China visa for single entry £94 for Portuguese ? Why is same China visa for UK national £151? Because it is all a joke?
