Totally agree, you tend to find the people who gravitate towards you, are, as Flanny says, usually on their own for a reason!!!!!
Sounds awful, but its true in my experience.

We are a young family my husband and I are 29 I have three girls aged 2,5,8, we want to get on and start life and work hard for the pleasure of living in portugal, we want to meet people as its gonna be hard work being away from our large family, but we are just concerned that we might be made the focus of there moaning as, we will be the youngest on the park with the only children
does anyone live near or in the park? or visited it? has anyone got any advice?
Boas tardes, como é você?
Eu visito o parque regularmente e encontro todos os povos lá freindly e útil.
Eu estou na aprendizagem atual falar Portugues, ele sou duro mas com pouco auxílio eu begining para escolhê-lo acima.

Ok, I am English but as I have said I am trying to learn the language. I am now travelling to the park on a regular basis as my parents in-law now reside here.
I have had no problems mixing with the other residents and find them all both freindly and helpful. It is our intention to move and reside at the park.

As to your coments I am unable to relate to any of them as most of the people I know there will and do speak a little portuges even if it is only good morning and thank you. I have also discovered that my Spanish is widely understood, due to the close proximity to Spain most of the locals speak Spanish.

If you require any further information please contact me and I will assist as best as I can.

We are at home at present but my parents in-law have just come over. They have put the roof, side walls and interior walls up but as of Saturday morning no tiles on the roof. It has been raining Sunday and Monday. One thing it has got to be better than the forcast we have this week!!
It looks like we are not going to be able to get over now until next year, depends on my work. We have Casa Lynda and my parents in-law live in Casa Lesnell.
I hope all goes well for you and we get a chance to meet up one day soon.

we have a rural tourismo in almargem tavira and have had a timber constructed room on our property in june 2007.....on the assumption that we did not need planning permission as enquires led us nto believe that planning permission was not required......we have just been notified by tavira camara to pull it down!!!!......so before you pay your money i suggest you get a letter from the owners of the property stating that you do not need planning permission!!!...regards...robin
