The DTA enforces the splitting of the tax year even though the domestic laws of both countries allow tax year splitting. Reporting tax to AT that is only payable to the UK in e filing does not split the tax. It taxes all so I just left it out as it is not tax evading. E filing systems do not automatically look at DTA's to see how to tax you.

Helpful guy this Ambassador - "residence after six months"? Clearly doesn't know the difference between residence and tax residence. Also, we could get a deal as much as he or anybody else likes but getting it through Parliament is a completely different kettle of fish.

As the days go by this brexit crap spirals more and more out of control. For what exactly???
