bombeiros card
I've seen a couple of references to this card with folks saying it's a good idea to get one. So what is it & how do you get one? Thank you in anticipation.

The card you are referring to has all your personnel details ie. name, address, health issues on it and is used the same way as a medical bracelet, if you took ill or involved in an accident when the card is found in your wallet/pocket the authorities can access the data base with your info. I have been here 6 years and know about it but do not know of anybody who has it and I take it you would have to enquire at a fire station to get info on it.

Are you referring to Cartão de Utente do SNS = Patient Card for Health Service ?

I've just heard back from a friend who has one & he's promised to email me details & a scan of his card but FWIW, he says it's an annual fee of E10 & gives (I think) free ambulance pick up etc but more importantly supports the Bombeiros a little.
