9 times out of 10 that will work; of course if the hotel has no independent booking system then they just have to pay the dot com billionaires their piece of the business.

It doesn't help the hotels revenue but if you sign up with a cashback site like quidco and then book through hotels.com you will get 10% discount which reduces the dot.com take.

In addition if you sign up to hotels.com they give a free night for every 10 nights taken.

I always double check hotels prices and join their reward programmes if required but I very rarely find competitive price.
