It doesn't help the hotels revenue but if you sign up with a cashback site like quidco and then book through hotels.com you will get 10% discount which reduces the dot.com take.

In addition if you sign up to hotels.com they give a free night for every 10 nights taken.

I always double check hotels prices and join their reward programmes if required but I very rarely find competitive price.
