Default The baby who died in Lagos

Just wanted to say my heart goes out to the poor parents. It is so easy to judge. They should have done this or that, but an 18 month old can surprise you with what they can do.I lost one of mine in a store once.at 3yrs old. The most terrifying 15 minutes of my life. I can only guess at the pain and heartbreak they feel at leaving that window open, the cot too close. never dreaming anything could possible happen. RIP little one,and condolences to the poor parents.

Friends of mine on a houseboat in Amsterdam looked out the window and saw their child's feet floating past; he'd squeezed himself out through a porthole.
Miraculously, they pulled him out and he was fine.

I tell that story to anyone I meet with kids on a boat; nothing like terror to keep everyone paying attention.
