Hi again,
Just wondering how difficult it might be to do alterations to properties in the Algarve? Thinking along the lines of changing a pitched roof to a flat sun terrace? Bit of a random question I know

The Camara are the local council, the organisation responsible for planning and building regulations.
Where in Portugal is your property.

Permissions vary from area to area and it's best to just go and ask.

We haven't purchased as yet, still looking, but don't want to discount houses outright that don't appear suitable at first glance. So just trying to get an overview of how difficult it might be to get permission to make alterations to the structure.

And to be fair the word used was camera not camara so it was pretty confusing
We'd be looking at the Algarve hopefully. ..
