Aircon companies in the Tavira area
Time is rolling on (alas too slowly) so we need to think about getting aircon installed. Can anyone recommend a company in the Tavira area? And can anyone who has had it installed in a 3 bedroom property give me a rough idea of the cost. It's a new build so all the piping is pr-einstalled.

Relatives have just got some fitted, quotes were from 700 to 1100 euros for a unit. They got a guy from Moncarapacho which is 15 mins from Tavira.

I had 4 x latest Sharp wall mounted units with individual compressors retro-fitted for about €5,000 by Neil Yates & Jacinto Lda at Sao Bras de Alportel. There was no pre-installation pipework so they had to carve channels out of the walls etc. Nice job though.
Nuno Clima Lda at Quatrim do Norte (N125 near Olhao) also gave me a similar quote for Daikin units and he did an instal at a friend's house - again nice job, no problems.
Strange-but-true : individual compressors are cheaper than shared compressors
I'm sure there are companies right on your doorstep; try asking at a Drogaria or an estate agent or look in The Algarve Resident or any of the other free papers and magazines.

We bought in Carrefour in Spain fir €185 a unit and paid the same to get them installed, the guy had to knock through the walls and put ducting.

Thanks again guys but now you've got me thinking; is it better/cheaper to buy the units yourself and have somebody install them

Discovered an AC shop in Tavira, its called TAVILAR and it is across the road from the cinema.

Okay, here we go again. We're coming out for a week in August and it would be useful if we could have the a/c installed then or even before. Bearing this in mind can anyone provide websites or email addresses for a/c companies in the above area.

They quoted me €600 less than anyone else and they install Samsung units. Does anyone have any experience of these units? Are they the dog's rollocks or a load of rubbish?
