Thanks , have decided not to go with them anyway. Will have to start looking for somewhere to rent ( not holiday rates tho) if possible. Coming over early Sept.

We have a long term (don't do short term) rental but as it's in the Figueiro Dos Vinhos area, it probably won't be much use to you but going from our experience, you might find it hard to get a long term rental in late August onwards....... however, if you leave it a month or so and try to get the booking from late September or early October onwards, you'll probably find it considerably easier.

Many owner renters will bite your hand off and you will be able to find apartments ,villas set up for the holiday rental market, well equipped with uk tv ,wif fi etc.

If you want to see what the area is like, just click on the link at the bottom of this post and then click on the tab marked 'About Central Portugal' and then click on the drop down menu that appears. - Some of the videos are especially well worth a look.

My previous comment was just to add to Munsterfan's comment about the area...... As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I knew we were out of the area you needed.
Anyway, I wish you luck in your search....... I know from our experiences how difficult it is to find the right place/area.

Seriously looking for any cheĆ p rental in the Algarve, but not at holiday rates please. Just need somewhere while looking for permanent property. Need somewhere in the next month if possible.

My advice WAIT until October to come over...really. Then many homes open up for lower prices. Are you able to do this?

Our buyers are looking to complete end of August, so we must find a rental soon after that. We could pay holiday rates for around a month, then get something cheaper or even better find a house to purchase.

You'll have no trouble finding a reasonably priced longer term rental in the central/northern zones for that time period but Algarve ones will be like hen's teeth.
