Question Plumbing Qualifications for Canada

I am currently studying for a City and Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing and then looking at NVQ levels 2 and 3 if I can get them in time, my questions are these qualifications recognized in canada? as far as I know a canadian plumbing apprenticeship is 5 years, would the years spent learning to get the UK qualifications be taken into account? thus I would'nt have to do the full 5 years? has anyone on here had their UK Plumbing Qualifications evaluated in canada for equivalency? I have read up on the Red Seal programme and know that I have to get practical experience as well, but really hoping that I can at least go to an employer with some useful certificates to get my foot in the door, so to speak, anyway thats all for now thanks for your time

Default Re: Plumbing Qualifications for Canada

My husband is city and guilds qualified in Mechanical Plumbing. We got the equivalent certificate thing from Guelph when we were out there. Doesn't make tonnes of sense but it is Canadian apprentership equivalent.
