I hope someone can help my wife and myself are planning to retire to the Philippines in January 25 can we apply for a tourist Visa once we are in the Philippines for the srrv Visa as I think it states we must have one in place to apply for a classic with pension can anyone confirm this.

First question to ask is, is your wife a Filipina? If so and if you are arriving with her, then on the production of your marriage certificate, you would be eligible for a Balikbayan Visa which gives you entry and stay in the Philippines for 12 months. I believe that's free, but happy to be corrected on that.

Assuming the above is true, you could then in due course apply for a 13a marriage Visa which is permanent as long as you remain married and far cheaper than an SRRV.

If none of the above applies to you, then entry into the Philippines is visa free for 30 days which can be extended initially for 29 days and then by 2 monthly increments up to 3 years. Don't forget your will need an outward ticket dated up to 30 days on arrival.

I would strongly suggest that for all matters SRRV, then contact PRA, Philippines Retirement Agency for free advice and help from an agent.

The PRA have their own agents which will be free of charge, there many agents out there offering their services for a fee, this is illegal. Only deal directly with the PRA. A point to note. the deposit $1.5, $10k, $20k must be wired from abroad, you can't pay it from within the Philippines.
