There are few of these nationally each year but there are also some local ones in provinces and municipalities. In Cavite one was declared for today. Some calling it Emilio Aguinaldo's 153rd birthday, which although living here for some years I never heard it called that before, usually it's Cavite Day. I'm sure it is not known about too well, maybe due to the name confusion.
But the funny thing is that the President seems to have to sign a new proclamation each year for each one. For today's here he did so only on March 6.

About the middle of last year got to the bank - shut, there were 3 security outside one of which pointed to a piece of paper "Independence Day/Victory Day" which I thought had been a month or so earlier, found out it was a Capiz holiday, I asked the security guys who they beat, none of them had any idea.

One announced by the out going President late Wednesday for tomorrow for the capital.
Not even the 450th or 500th anniversary.
Many businesses may not find out about it.
