Requirements for taking kid alone to Philippines from England
I have a friend, English citizen, who's married to a woman from the Philippines (She's not a UK citizen). They have a son together, born in England, after they married, and they live in UK.
My friend is considering leaving his wife, but am worried she'll take their son to the Philippines to stay, without my friend's consent. Is she allowed to do so? Can anyone point me to some official sources where he could find answers to this question?

He will also need to check whether or not the Philippines is a signatory to the Hague Convention (where if a child was illegally taken abroad the courts in that country agree to return the child to the home country)....all the info is also on this website:

I've just checked and the Philippines is NOT a signatory to the Hague Convention....so it's not good news if the boy is taken to the Philippines as the father would have a devil of a job trying to get the boy returned to the UK...the mother could accuse the father of all kinds of things so the Philippine courts would allow the boy to stay there....if the father really thinks his son could be at risk of abduction he definitely needs to follow the advice in the child abduction prevention guide.

Hope this helps!

There is a "Child Abduction Prevention Guide" which can be downloaded.....he will need to act quickly in case the mother takes out a Philippine passport for the boy....prevention is better than cure and it's easier to act before the child leaves the UK and there is a list of international lawyers who specialise in international child abduction.

It gets more alarming if you read this report of children abducted and taken to the Philippines. This report relates to American children taken to the Philippines but it would seem that the situation would be similar for a British or dual UK/Philippine child were to be taken there too:

I suggest that you forward this info to your friend too!
