Thank you.
If you don't like being around people who aren't British, why are you moving to the Philippines

Ive had enough of the UK.......I recently visited London and I think I was the only Brit there. Doesn't sound to me as though he's too fond of being around people who aren't Brits (haven't got a clue how he arrived at his conclusion - maybe he meant he was the only 'white' person in London.)

Hawk lord there is a lot of Arab influence via the Koran in the Philippines and that is not restricted to the south where Moorish architecture in some places is stunning. Marawi used to have that until recent events.

In conjunction with inflation you should also consider exchange rates. I'm no financial/economist expert, but high inflation sometimes coincides with a weakening of their exchange rate. So it could likely balance itself out. My last trip to the the Philippines 2 years ago the exchange rate was 60 to the £ its now 70 to the £ a 12% rise. the inflation has risen by about 5/6% a year so its balancing out for now!!!

Not always the case, in 2003 inflation was about 3% but the GBP/Ph exchange rate had nearly doubled over the previous 5 years to 106 and stayed above 100 for nearly 2 years. Not too sure why the exchange rate went that way apart from the Philippine president had a degree in economics.

Agreed "Not always the Case", I did say "sometimes".

Just pointing out that its not just future inflation we should be aware of. Exchange rates in these turbulent times should also be taken into consideration when anticipating future income. If we all could anticipate exchange rates we would all be billionaires.

I agree Salgoud. When we started building our house here in Davao in 2016 the ER to our local currency AED dirhams was approx 12.5, now its 14.5. A big plus for us.
