well we have been here 4 months now and hubby is enjoying it im starting to miss family and friends, we have a 2 year old girl whitch i take to play group 2 days a week,hubby works mon-fri 7am-6pm and loves his job. must admit i get very lonely sometimes but know we have made the right decision to be here. feel as tho my daughter is missing out with spending time with grandparents and other family.(we didnt know a sole when we moved here). have started to look for a job but havent got me a car yet so limited to where i can work and there isnt much about. have just got a baby sitter first time we have been out since we got here. (never been so excited to go to the cinema)
have noticed that birthday and christmas cards are expensive over here so had to cut down on the number of cards we send, aslo some super markets can be quite expensive.
hopefully we will make some friends soon, and i will really start and enjoy it here.

Hello and welcome to BE. It can be hard for many people missing friends and family and struggling to meet new people here - you are not alone.

Where abouts in NZ are you? There may be other people on BE close by you could meet up with?

we are in upper hutt about half an hour from wellington city centre. there seems to be quite a few british expats in our area. was told there was somewhere in wellington where BE meet but not to sure.

There are a fair few in the Wellington area - but I must admit they seem to have gone a bit quiet of late!

Why not start a new thread in the "Meet Ups" section and try and get one going?
