And Sing dollars or ringitt?
Did you get a breakdown showing costs per m^3 or truckload, costs for transporting across border or whatever.

Oranje Movers - and yes in S$. It includes everything - the move, dealing with Customs etc. But no packing as I said we'd do that ourselves. They'd only pack the furniture. Don't know if I'm just being unrealistic but it's not like we like in a mansion and have loads of furniture!!

Waiting for a quote from one other who came out on Friday so we'll see how that compares...

I can't remember what it costs per container UK to Sing but it can't be far off that.
When we moved within Sing it cost S$ 200 per lorry load so my missus tells me and that included packing etc. We only had just under two lorry loads as we bought quite a bit of new stuff but they were quite large ish lorries not a pick up.

Did you try 'Helping Hand' or don't they do cross border stuff.

You should get more than one other quote though.
Why not try the big international movers?

But if it could save S$1000 or so I'd think a few phone calls would be in order.

The first quote must have given the volume so you can use that as a means of getting comparison prices over the phone.

Thanks very much ex reg. I'll call a couple more tomorrow including the one you mention above. I e-mailed 6 companies last week and only 2 responded. I just hate trying to speak to people on the phone as they can't understand my accent (fair enough - I have trouble with theirs at times too - but it can make for very frustrating phone calls!)
