Have you all registered with the NBV? If so how long did it take? how fussy were they? We just filled in the application form, didn't send any docs...just asked the ANMC to forward our file on to NBV....hope this will suffice!!!!!!! :scared:

Hi everyone, I am a RGN hoping to get to Melbourne early 2007 - and of course have only just remembered about the NBV registration. Can i ask how people did it? I think you can get the ANC to transfer your file, and i think you can register when you arrive? But is is better to register from here (?via post?) ??
I think I switched off from paperwork and I just can't get my head around what I need to do!
any advice GRATEFULLY!! received
best wishes

Noticed youve asked same question all over the place already but heres my reply from a previous post:
First get in touch with RCN for a 'verification pack'. Fill out the form send it off with a payment £34 await confirmation its been sent to NBV, apply to NBV by sending in your diploma/degree cert, Uni transcript and Birth Cert (all certified copies). All this can be done via interner.
As you will see mine took 9 weeks but I could have done it when I landed - however I needed mine for my modified skills assessment with ANMC (a bit cheaper doing it this way) for my 134 Visa application. The sertificate you get from NBV is rather nice - much beter than crappy stuff from RCN. Once registered dont forget to mention this in your application for jobs and stick the ID number on your CV - looks good!
Anymore help needed, give me a shout?
Diane

Re: Whos trying for Melbourne 2007?
Hello everyone, just thought i'd pop in with a wee update.
We are hoping to be in melbourne dec/jan.
I have accepted a job at the Epworth in DSU, and have a 3 month trial, which is good as not tied to a 12 month contract, they are also giving me $800 towards accom
Decided i wanted the safety of having a job to go to

Just checking in on you all. We've got our medicals on Thursday ( frontloading by a month or so ) so really hoping to hear something not too long after that. Got all my specialist reports lined up and ready to go with the medical results so hopefully they wont request much more info from me and hold us up any longer.
I'm so impatient.

My Mrs is an A&E nurse at our local hospital in Ferntree Gully but before that she did agency nursing all over the city.
Just thought you might be glad to hear she thought the Epworth was one of the better ones.

That sounds a pretty good idea Mags. Plenty of not so busy hospitals out in the suburbs that would probably suit better like Casey, Knox Private, Angliss etc etc.
Saves driving into the city as well.

Re: Whos trying for Melbourne 2007?
Hi folks
Im acting team co-ordinator for the Northern Bayside continuing care team (mental health) based in Frankston.
Generally the mental health services are behind the UK, but trying to move forward. Not sure about general nursing....hear good and bad treports about the public hospitals. Seems to me that there are plenty of jobs. Send e mails directly to the hospitals to see what they have.
We live at Mornington, although are moving to Mt Martha next year. We like it here and are feeling really settled now.
Good luck to you all.
Try the Britvics website for more info on Victoria.
