Default UK Social Worker moving to Gold Coast Australia looking for advice

Hi, I am planning a move to GC with my sister in April 2017. She has a sponsored job lined up but I have not got anything sorted as yet. I am a qualified social worker with almost 6 years experience and I am looking for advice for finding work. My experience is in child protection and I currently work in a school dealing with safeguarding concerns. It would be great to find a similar role. My questions are- how do I find a social worker role, is it best to go through the agencies such as seek and via indeed.com?
Is there much work for SWs in GC or would I be better looking in Brisbane?
Do I need to have the skills assessment with AASW before arrival and am I expected to have this when applying for jobs? Should I apply before arrival or wait until I get there?
Any advice would be appreciaate, thank you
