Hi,
I have never written in a forum before but am getting very confused with what to do.
I am a band 6 community sexual health nurse and wanting to take the steps to move to australia with my husband and son.
Iv got lots of questions but the main ones are:
What kind of nursing levels in autralia are the equivelent of a band 6? (I have 5 yrs experience as a nurse) not currently got degree but advanced diploma.
What is the pay like for nurses? Best places to work for the best money?
What are the first steps i need to take to get the ball rolling?
I dont mind what type of nursing i will do, however i specialise is sexual health. Are there nurse jobs like that in Aus?If so where?
And also Bush nursing sounds very interesting...what skills are required?
sorry so many questions but dont know where to start!!
PLEASE HELP
Frankie xx
If anyone has any tips please share!! xxx

Hi Frankie,
First thing you need is Australian registration. You have to apply to AHPRA for this. If you look through recent posts regarding AHPRA you will find that currently, they are not on the Christmas Card list for UK Diploma qualified nurses.
If you register successfully, there will be jobs in your area of specialism but probably in the more rural areas of Oz.
My suggestion would be to get your registration application rolling by downloading the forms and check what you need as evidence, etc. I wouldn't send it off though until the current issue is resolved.
You can download it here: http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov...hZpamU2Q%3d%3d

Re: UK registered Nurse wanting to move to australia.
genorm is right...check the 3 (I think) active threads on here you'll find all your answers.
my advice is to read all the information very, very carefully on the link genorm sent to you.
Also, check out each states website - there is info on those about pay etc.
Good Luck!
