I would do as Nikki says, and frontload your application. Advised at the York seminar last May to get meds and police checks done whilst waiting for ANC assessment (modified as I already had registered with NSW).
As soon as assessment arrived, we were ready to go and everything went off together to ASPC.
Good Luck, the waiting around is the easy bit looking back now!!!

Hi Primrose
Have you checked with the SA board to see if there is a problem?
I recently renewed my NSW registration (which had lapsed) and received it back within a couple of weeks.
Sounds like yours is taking too long.
Best wishes

I emailed them on 20th April and they replied saying that there was a huge demand at the moment and that normal processing times were 4-8 weeks.
I will bite the bullet and email them again tonight and see what they say.

I wonder if it is the time of year when large numbers of nurses who all qualified at the same time are renewing their annual registration.
Just an idea.
Hope you get it soon
Best wishes

Hi Nikki,
When you say front load what do you mean exactly? We havent sent anything off to Oz yet but obviously would like to do anything that will speed up the process. Are you referring to docs sent with the visa application or to the SA Nurse Registration Board. Appreciate any clarification you can give.
Incidentally,I have had a police check back (from the Met) and it took just two weeks.

Hi richard
Front load means to send off your application with the meds and the police checks in the hope it makes it quicker
I'm just pointing out that the registered Drs are quite busy and you may have a wait to get an appointment and then you have to wait for results of blood tests and for the Dr to send everything back to you to send it all off to Adelaide for your main DIMIA application!!!!
Well done on your police checks we are going to email them tomorrow!!!

I have just searched on the forum for this subject and all is now clearer, but.....
it seems that front loading is only suitable for General skilled visas. This is what we will apply for with the STNI route (subclass 137 (to get techie). Is this the same as yourself? Am I right that front loading is okay for this type of app?

Relax a bit.
It will all fall into place soon. Nurses are in demand and are fast tracked so you won't go far wrong.
It could be a lot worse. Some people wait up to 2 years or more!
Just take one step at a time.
Good luck

We have postponed our shippers once already and may well have to do it again
We have had the obligatory leaving do, which was very hard, my father-in-law has had a stroke this last week... so you see in our personal circumstances, the wait last year for the ANC assessment was fairly stress free.
Once our application 47SK went off to Adelaide I felt quite relaxed as it was out of our hands and all we had to do was wait!!

"Thank you for your email on 25 May 2004 regarding overseas registration.
The overseas application form is with the Assessment Officer. As per
previous email upon completion of the assessment we will notify you in
writing of the outcome."
Looks like I won't be seeing it this week!!
