NURSES in Perth & Adelaide
We are new to this forum which is great with lots of useful information on it.
My wife a clinical (tissue viability nurse specialist) and i are looking to move over to Perth or possibly Adelaide. It would be really good to here from nurses who are there already or those who are in the process of applying.
We would like to go on a PR visa (175?) but are open to listening to the various opinions.
Should my wife look for a sponsor job or just send her CV to various agencies?
What role could she realistically expect to get in Aus?
should we sell or rent?
this i understand is a well trodden path but any advice is welcome.
we also have 3 children, 19 (not coming) 15 & 12. Any pitfalls about changing their education.
What area of Perth, North or South. We were thinking maybe north, quinns rock (never been).
All advice greatly appreciated.
scary isn't it??

Re: NURSES in Perth & Adelaide
thanks
you seem to be in a similar position to us with the age of your children etc.
Do you have any websites that you have collected along the way that have helped out.
also having never been to perth, is there much of a temperature difference between just north of perth and just south, freemantle for instance?

The weather in Fremantle is hot in summer but you get a nice breeze (they call the fremantle doctor) winter temp are about 17 to 19 degrees so not cold . I think places like quinns rock are alot hotter.
Anyone welcome to jump in if im wrong !!!
Hope this helps

The web site for that school is www.jc.wa.edu.au
Also a good place to look for jobs for nurses is www.seek.com.au

Hi GuyJac
I am also a nurse in Dorset heading for Oz next year.
With a profession such as nursing where there are lots of jobs and opportunities I believe it is better to apply for a PR visa that doesn't tie you in to any job.
You will hear nightmare stories about people who were tied into jobs they hated.
BTW I'm moving this to the nursing forum - you should get a good response there

We are torn between Adelaide, Melbourne and also considered Perth.
My hubbies a RMN and we are going down the 175 route.
Just at 120 points, can try to get job offer or take the IELTS test if we need to get any points back, when reach 40.
Recently received letter of determination from the full skills assesment from ANMC.
If you have 120 points, worth going down the 175. There is even the option for state sponsorship if you wanted to go to Adelaide.
Good luck anyway
You do get a lot of help from here.
