daughter 1 is thinking about doing her nurse training (MH) in Adelaide anyone got any ideas on where to search for info...courses qualifications needed ect

Was just asking Paul B in anothr thread is mental health nursing a thing here as they said to him if he had mental health certificate would give him extra 60$ as if anyone could do it.

Not sure if all states are the same, but certainly here in queensland, there is no such thing as pre-registration mental health nursing, it is a post graduate course. May be why there are so many english MH nurses working in the psych units here. Nursing undergraduate courses have about 6 weeks mental health experience, 2 weeks placement and 4 weeks theory. All of the unis run post grad diplomas and masters in mental health, though it is not necesary to have these to work in the area, there are grad programs for general nurses at most of the hospitals.
