It seems Health Authorities are giving a lot more jobs out to people while they are still in UK than they were.
When PaulB and I came across you tended to get the wait till you get here reply from places you contacted. We couldn't even figure out where to rent, letting you get the job first will definitely ease the stress of moving for you.

Hey thanks all you guys for the support!
I feel like a rat with a gold tooth (to coin a phrase)!
Diane.
(Just to add, I didnt go through any agency in getting this job; I rang a few hopitals direct and got the name of the NUM in charge of the units and e-mailed them a speculative enquiry letter. For three letters mailed I had 2 telephone interviews and so far, 1 job offer. Guess they really are short of nurses because Ive been qualified less than 12 months!!
So all you guys wondering where to start, my advice would be to not just wait till an advert comes up, but to speculate in order to accumulate!)

No, you can apply before your visa. Especially if its a sponsored visa as you need the job offerto finalise it!
