I'll try and keep this short ..........
Qualified as RGN 1986 (3 years)
RGN for 1 year then....
Qualified as RM 1989 (18 months)
In those days there was no such thing (in Scotland anyhow) as a degree in nursing,it was called a Certificate !
Got myself registered with QNC without issues in 2008 as General nurse only pending receipt from Scotland of Midwifery training transcripts(it only took 6 months
).Applied for Midwifery endorsement mid 2009 and after 9 months of utter crap communication and one committee hearing or another,my qualification was rejected in April 2010 due to a lack of theoretical content wtf.Anyhow I plodded on and decided not to pursue this further at that stage due to the pending disbandment of QNC.Now reading between the lines, those AHPRA people are making even more of a dogs dinner of applications than before. This makes me reluctant to submit again for fear of further rejection boo hoo.
I have now been in OZ for 4 months and although I have not been all -out job hunting,I am beginning to get the impression that I am unemployable and am feeling a tad rejected in my middle-age years
It seems that I am a nomad because my experience is all in midwifery but here I am only registered as a general nurse thus far.Having no recent experience in any other field,my options are limited somewhat. At the moment I am thinking that maybe I could look for some short training courses to upskill a bit but on the Sunshine Coast, the options are limited.
Anyone else from the 80's feeling rejected ?
