Default 457 any work hours requirement?

please don't turn this into a debatre about PR v 457

I have 8 years experience working in dialysis, icu and general medicine and i worked 24+ hours all this time, however for the past 18 months i have only worked on the nurse bank and am only doing 1 shift per week. Does the 12 months 20+ hours apply to the 457 visa.

If not once i am working full time over in Oz, am i then eligible to apply either for a sponsored PR visa or the 136 through my own means.

I have no problems paying for private medical care, and putting up with a tough job for a couple of years, can't be any worse than what i am experiencing here

We are going to Cairns on a 457 and OH (prime applicant) is only newly qualified so there cant be an experience requirement! but obviously you will need an employer to sponsor you. (i.e. you will need a job offer!)

The DIMIA web site will give you all the details

Yes - IF you qualify. Remember, it's not just skill, work requirements you have to meet. There are other things like health too.

For example there have been cases where a family member has become sick after arriving (on a 457) and on top of all the other things to worry about, refused PR and a one-way ticket home is also then on the agenda.

You do not know what is around the corner so be careful before closing options down.
