Have to say I don't understand the whole thing at all, how can they rename a global name like Shell? What benefit is there in changing to Z (allegedly the Z being for New Zealand)
The name is hardly going to be useful in a google search.

I would have though 'Zee' for 'New Zealand' is a better marketing name than "Zed" for New Zealand.
Very strange choice of pronunciation, if nothing else.

Apparently a company called Greenstone Energy bought the franchise rights to all the Shell Petrol stations. The petrol is still to be supplied by Shell, just you'll be popping down to 'Z' for it

These advertising / marketing gurus don't get it do they? I still have Marathons (not Snickers) use Jif (not Cif) and I like Opal Fruits (not Starburst). I don't really see myself embracing the Zed.
