Just received a letter from the company i currently work for here in the UK..
saying there are going to be some redundancies

My OH was in the same position and was made redundant by Auntie Beeb ( BBC) in May. He got another job but did not tell them about NZ as we had not got approved etc. We have kept most of his money and have put it into premium bonds for now.....have won £250 in 3 months which is much better than the interest we would have got.Good luck,hope it all works out

my OH is just going thru the [redundo] process with anti-beeb (ITV!) we're keeping fingers crossed that the lump sum and our blue stickers coincide!!

OH went through the same in December last year. Luckily they offered voluntary redundancies so he snapped their hands off and took a very large cheque He then got a contract which took him up to a month before we left for NZ
