For your younger child there's Cockle Bay School (my children go there),
Shelley Park, Mellons Bay, Bucklands Beach and Howick.
Intermediates are Summerville, Bucklands Beach and Howick (not recommended)

Colleges Howick and Macleans. Both are good.
Howick village centre is lovely. We lived in a small market town in England and Howick reminds us very much of that. It has a lovely centre and some nice cafes and shops.
Depends on what you want to spend on a house, too.
