Default Wet firewood

Havent been here for a while... busy at work, car got broken into, wifey got a job and little 'un loves school... so its all go!

Anyhoo re: firewood... we're burning what we have left but now the weather is improving we're thinking about next winter. I'd rather not buy any dry firewood now, but wet (and assuming its cheaper) wood to store in our wood shed.

Problem is everyone seems to be selling dry wood...

...anyone have any recommendations for wet, cheaper wood suppliers?

Best would be to buy some standing trees and fell and log them yourself (don't try this at home without knowing what you are doing or taking a course etc).

Most log suppliers leave to dry during the sales supply chain, not sure it would be much cheaper damp than dry....but asking closer to the standing trees is the way to go....

You need a good year to season firewood. Buy dry later on when it's cheaper. Not now when it's in demand. Forget 'wet' unless it's your own..

Reputable suppliers won't sell you green wood, they're going to store it for at least a year before it's sold.
There's often good deals on TM for you to take a chainsaw and clear downed trees for cheap prices. e.g....http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living...-406916588.htm ...or there is this wet one...http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living...-408327644.htm
Just type firewood in and find a local.
