Would appreciate any pointers/referrals as we have to move out of our current rental in 2 weeks. We've been looking at Trademe, The north shore times and a few real estate sites for the last few weeks. We've been to look at many places that have been not what suits or are just not good enough.

We're looking for either a 2 bedroom place with a garage and preferably a fenced section for around the $300 mark or

a 3 bedroom place with the above for around the $400-$450

The areas we are looking at are (in order of preference) - Northcote/Hillcrest/Birkenhead/Birkdale/Glenfield

Get the North Shore Times, that's where most of rentals are advertised and it comes out three times a week. The estate agents also put their rentals in there as well.
