Wellington, Where to rent?
Hi Guy's I am moving to Wellington in August, but I don't know where is best to rent, I would prefer a mix of close to the city but also with some outdoor space for my two cats, any ideas?

By Close do you mean walking distance or easy commute? Porirua is only 20 mins by train and Kapiti Coast under 50 mins..., lower and upper hutt are the same...

Re: Wellington, Where to rent?
Just posted similiar on another thread, but take a look at Trade me, get a Satnav and have a look about for yourself.
We stay out near Porirua and are really happy out here - we have 2 big dogs so we need a garden and to be near places to walk them.
We do all our shopping in Porirua, but we head into Wellington for rugby etc and get the train or it's a 15-20 easy drive in. It's a bit more chocca in the morning if you drive.
Depends what you want and what your budget is.

Guy's thanks for your ideas much appreciated, I have just sold my house in UK and I am coming over on a permenant residency visa in August with my girlfriend, I work in IT and although I don't have a job to start off I expect to be working in the CBD within 2 - 3 months, so a 20-30 min commute would be fine, My budget is aimed at the $1280 - $1400 per month mark.
