Where about in Wellington are you planning on staying. The local paper is The Dominican, jobs & houses are in every wednesday & saturday. House prices like anywhere depends on where you want to live & what you want. You can get property for $200,000, but it probably wouldn't be livable and not in a nice area. We paid $450,00 for a 3 bed with gorgeous views, that's probably about the average.

Try looking here we bought our home after we first saw in whilst still in the uk,came round and found out it was still for sale ,put in an offer and won .
