I have made a big mistake and sent 2 Renault masters to NZ to convert into motorhomes and travel. But I can’t get them into NZ roads. I missed the spec about suspension control so now have 2 useless vans in Napier NZ
various options
resend back to UK
resend back to UK and find someone moving house back to UK so they can share the space and costs
find a buyer in pacific islands
find a buyer in NZ
has anyone had similar problems
is there a way to get them NZ road legal as we had hoped they would be our NZ summer campervans as we want to escape uk winters every year and where better than NZ with such friendly people and great sea kayaking

Can you please explain the issue with suspension control?
I had a quick Internet search but couldn't find anything obvious which would prevent a UK specification vehicle being imported to NZ.

The question I have is whether the vans actually failed to meet the requirements, or whether Bondyworld lacks evidence that the vans meet the requirements?
When were these vans built? It seems that the requirement is age-dependent, as obviously if your van was built in say 1995 then it clearly wouldn't have electronic stabilty control, but neither would any other van already in New Zealand.

Why not consult the transport ministry in NZ or the authority that is responsible for inspecting imports ?
It might have been prudent to talk to Renault regarding the vans before exporting to NZ as they would know of any restrictions/peculiarities for particular countries.
Personally I would have just imported from Japan. Plenty on offer there.
