Question UK Passports

It's been soooo long since I posted on here....I have a question about Passports.

My passport runs out in June, it has the blue stickers already in and I am due in NZ in March. Question is, is that too short a period of time on the passport to travel or am I OK to travel and arrive in NZ with this. I can then renew my passport as and when needed.

Cheers
Paul

NZ may not care, but depending on where you intend to stopover, it may be a problem.

It is also a lot of hassle to get a British passport overseas, compared to the UK. Perhaps get new passport now?

Hi Paul, if possible I would do it here to save hassle at the airport in UK. I spent ages finding out about it all, from NZ house , airline etc, but when we got to Heathrow the checkin lady threw her toys out the pram. The kids passports had 4 months to run and NZ said no problem, just had to last 3 months longer than our return date. BUT, we were transiting via Hong Kong and checkin thought they wouldn't accept it. Long story short..we were ok to fly, but I think in retrospect I'd have gone for the easy option. Good luck

Hi Paul, good to 'see' you back on here. Hope you are well. Although it's easy to renew your Passport in NZ (OH did it earlier this year), I'd get it sorted in the UK before you come, as j19fmm suggests.

Where are you planning to live? Good luck with it all.

Cheers for all the replies. I've sent the forms off and hopefully they won't get lost in a strike!!

We've altered the depart dates now, to March for me and April for the wife and kids, where our new life starts in Whangaparaoa.

If any body wants a good reliable mobile mechanic (available form mid March), I'm your man!
