Pants, didn't see this earlier.
Looking at my interview questions same sort of things already mentioned plus
= How do you see yourself fitting into the team?
=Give examples of how you would run your classroom programmes - give examples of successes
= Explain types of assessment you use
= Classroom management techniques and strategies
=What are your expectations of the children ?
= How would you handle a disgruntled parent ?
= What experience do you have with Te Reo and Tikanga Maori - give examples
Sorry this is a bit late. Fingers crossed for you. Lots of smiles and enthusiasm, tell them their school is the best and that's why you want to be there. xx

Thanks guys. Do kiwi schools interview a raft of people like UK schools do? And how long should I expect to wait for a decision? I assume it won't be the same day notice like in the UK?

That's the trouble with asking a question sometimes, you get an answer that you weren't expecting .
Just be you. You know that you are good at what you do so believe in yourself. Smile, take a deep breath in & knock 'em dead.
Best of luck to you xxx

Depends! Both my interviews there were other candidates. One job I got the phone call almost as I got home the other I waited a week - but that was because they were waiting on budget and roll numbers.

Re: Trying to change teaching jobs
How did it go? Who the hell knows for sure! it was a mammoth 90 minute interview. There didn't appear to be anyone directly before or after me. Immediately after i was greeted and I arrived into the interview room, I was asked to do a presentation stating what skills I had that would mean I could do the job.
AFTER I had finished, they then told me what skills they Were looking for.
I will know by the end of the week apparently.

No luck Didn't get the job. It seems my lack of time in the NZ system is against me, regardless of experience and leadership skills.
I have been offered a demotion in effect, but in a different school to the one I am in now.
If I stay where I am I will get a pay cut at the end of Jan anyway as they are taking my management units off me, or should I say, not renewing them.
I haven't had a non management position in a school for a very very long time. The job I have been offered is just a basic classroom teacher.
I don't know what to do.
Will it be to my advantage or disadvantage to take a demotion from senior teacher but gain mainstream classroom experience?
