Default Is there anyone in Thames?

I've had someone asking me about a job in Thames.

I've done google street view etc. but cannot really get a feel for the place. What's it really like?

hi we have got friends in Thames, and have stayed there loads of times, it feels like a very nice town, not far from coromandel loads of shops plenty of out door things to do , has it own race course and a small airport,
if we could that would be the place to live after Tauranga, we are back in uk now, they do a very good street market and now they have a new bridge no traffic

Very quiet on a Saturday night following a really delightful curry there, maybe the best ever. Wonderful Saturday market and a cheap toy train ride near the front. Handy for most places. Seems to have everything you'd need in NZ. I liked the feel of the place although only there for two nights nearby.

On your virtual stroll through Thames you would have noticed its a rather small township. Thames perks up over the summer months but come winter it can be a tad morose and brooding ( well that's the effect it always has on me ) Historically ( from a kiwi perspective ) it's an interesting, important place. Thames has a fine museum and there is also a fascinating gemstone collection on display - which I'd say is world class. The Thames estuary is apparently a fantastic place for bird watching however I'm not a mudflat person myself. There are plenty of well maintained walking tracks. I can certainly think of worse places to live than Thames, but I'm not sure I would choose to live there.

We drove through Thames a few years ago. Don't think I had any feelings about the small township one way or the other but I do remember it had a lovely second hand bookshop which I had to be dragged out of
