Angry Teagate - a bad look....

The Police are planning raids on 4 media offices over this during an Election Campaign. Where are we, in a Banana Republic?

Stuff.co.nz
'Police are preparing to serve search warrants on four media outlets over the tea tape saga.

Prime Minister John Key complained to police earlier this week that his meeting with ACT candidate John Banks at an Auckland cafe on Friday had been illegally recorded.' END Stuff QUOTE

The Press has been so supportive of him across the board, it is very bad judgement and extremely ungrateful to irk them like this.
He knows what he said despite saying he doesn't remember, it was bland, so publish it and then get on with the real issues.

Key needs to fess up allow the tapes to be broadcast and deal with it - like the Greens did with their bill board shenanegans

We can all imagine what was being said that National and ACT don't want us to hear.......might have something to do with

John Key is a fool!

Invite the press to watch him have a "political" cup of tea in a public place and then cry foul when he can't keep his trap shut! ... What a Twat!

That’s the thing though it was a staged event for some PR that backfired. What surprises me is that he drew more attention to it in this manner rather than just saying “Yeah Act is probably finished but it’s no big deal. You probably knew that anyway.”

“Officers working on the case” so if they had time to investigate something so trivial they must have found my TV. Yay!

Why of course we are. Did you not know? This country and its politicians in many ways are a joke. Like if you are on the run you will be sent a letter warning you that your benefits will be cut off if you continue to be naughty and evade capture. Much of the grown up world must be having a good old laugh at us right now. Much of life in NZ on a daily, hamster wheely, domestic way is great but way too much of what goes on in other areas is a crock of shite. Like crap laws and ineffective politicians.

Yes.

I have heard kiwis describe the country as "the world's coldest banana republic" (although there are other places that claim the same).

As if people couldn't just make a copy or as if the only place you could possibly store work material was at work.

I'd almost be tempted to set up office with an elaborate pulley system meaning when police opened the door a switch was flicked broadcasting and uploading everything. Then when asked in course you could say it was actually the police who accidentally broadcast everything during their search of the premises, if there hadn’t been a search it never would have been broadcast. ‘course the police would argue the recording was still illegal to which you’d say “Yeah…but like all of our accidental recordings it would have never been broadcast and destroyed in due course”.

Obviously someone read my mind:

I doubt the rest of the world has even heard there is an Election on in NZ.

Yeah, a typical flippant and arrogant comment from Key on that report
...John Key, who was in Whangarei on Thursday, said police action further to the complaint he laid was out of his hands, as police act independently.

When asked whether his complaint was a good use of police time, Mr Key said National had lowered the crime rate across the country and police had a little bit of spare time.

Lardyl - pleased to see you woke up on the left side of the bed this morning . I'll do my best to unseat Peter Dunne for you. I didn't have a vote last time.

The Guardian and the BBC are both running stories on it as we speak. So there you go.
