Hi,

I have recently accepted a job from an accredited company I previously worked for when on a WHV (left NZ 7 months ago). I am looking at starting the visa process, I am a little confused with the medical check. I keep getting conflicting information online, it says I need a chest x-ray and medical check if I am applying for a visa for more than 12 months. However it also says I don't need the check if I have previously done a check for a previous visa, which I did for my WHV last April.

Do I need to have the check again or is my last check sufficient as I haven't been anywhere with TB

HI , no, i think the rules changed and you can use your medical from last April. will double check and come back to this

Thank you, I really hope so. £500 is a lot of money for a medical check in the UK

Looks like its 3 years unless you have been in a country that has TB

You had a chest x-ray for an earlier visa application

If you sent us a chest x-ray certificate with an earlier visa application, you don’t need to have another x-ray unless either:

• it’s been more than 3 years since you had the last one
• since you had the last x-ray, you spent more than 6 months in a row in a country that doesn't have a low incidence of TB.

I thought this was the case, so much easier than getting a new medical check. Lets hope it gets approved as I can't wait to live in Wellington again.
