haven't looked at this site in well over a year as really could n't face it
was offered dream job last may with the view of heading out in sept, my wife and two kids would follow on once i had found accommodation and schools
the employers had also earmarked a job for my wife same salary bracket as my own (really good earnings according to all threads here)
then in july my wife had change of heart didn't want to leave family behind, too far to travel if anything goes wrong
we did alot of talking, but could only come to one decision if both parties aren't fully committed we had to stay for time being
we are now hoping to come out for a holiday and if all is well move in 3 years when kids have all left school
here hoping

Sorry to here bout the change of plans, but your totally right to do what's best for the family.
We're hoping to move out to Auckland once our house is sold, so if you do make it out for a holiday and we're there happy to meet up for a coffee one Scot to another

ohh tricky situation!! Hope you have a good holiday, don't have regrets about not doing something - you'll could end up like sour old folks who constantly say "we nearly did that" until your dying day. perhaps a holiday will cement either way whether it's right for you??..... enjoy

but, you are right to say you both need to be fully committed as it is such a big thing to do. Hopefully you will have a brilliant holiday and see for yourselves as a family what NZ has to offer which may mean making the decision next time much easier
Best of luck to you and your family

Have a great holiday.
Maybe worth taking a laptop with you if possible and dropping in to the libraries (presuming you're touring) and showing your wife and kids how easy it is to Skype home? Emphasise that technology has made keeping in touch a lot easier than it used to.
