I have recently moved to NZ from Canada for better weather/outdoor life.
Is sunbathing topfree on NZ beaches acceptable? I have heard that most kiwis are conversative due to scottish ancestry - unlike Australia/Canada.
Why does topfree sunbathing becomes evening news in NZ?

One for the boys I think. I've never noticed any females sun-bathing topless here TBH but then I haven't been looking. Not something I would do personally. If I took my bra off the world would be knocked off it's axis

From a safety point of view, apply lots of sunscreen with a high factor & apply regularly. You can burn very quickly in NZ.

Got to laugh at the better weather-thing, given that the Spring & Summer have not been upto much so far.

Re: Sunbathing in NZ?
Talking about sunbathing a couple of years ago on one of our visits my husband sat in the sun for a short while on our first day there and his face got very red. The next day we went to the shopping centre with my daughter and my husband said he would wait outside (in the shade of course). A lady came to sit beside him and noticing his face told him that skin cancer is the biggest killer in NZ. He replied he was now being very careful.
She then added do you think nudist get sunburnt on their p------s he said if they did it would be there own fault. She then got up and walked away. We could not stop laughing for days.
Now there's a question do they?

There is a nudist beach at Grannies Bay, just a short(ish) walk from Long Bay, mainly old lecherous type men..........
