Spotted a new(ish) UK food shop! Wairau Park
As we seem to have a few threads on food & nutrition on the go, thought I would mention that I found a new UK shop on the North Shore last week.
Had just been to Spotlight & Freedom when I spotted a sign for a British store It's opposite the aforementioned shops & is called Union Jack's.
It seemed much cheaper than Bramptins & had a good selection of stuff including frozen stuff. Waiting for some Soreen to come in as OH loves it. Apparently they do deliveries too
Stocked up on dark chocolate digestives as I use them as a base for my cheesecakes.

Funny when you look at the prices now, they're almost on a par with "equivalent" NZ foods....just goes to show how much our prices have gone up.

I'd say most of the stuff is cheaper than the highly sugared E numbered filled Kiwi aquivalent.
I'll be popping up very soon.

I have spent the whole friggin day in the kitchen, besides a couple of tea breaks on here and making today's dinner and cooking scambled eggs on toast for breakfast. I have prepped and batch cooked corn on the cobs, roast heaps of summer vegetables and grilled a trayload of plums and made crumbles for the freezer. So that we do at least have something other than potatoes, cabbage and carrots to look forward to in the winter months, when something exotic like a pepper will be $6 each.
It would actually be so nice to walk into Marks and Sparks and buy some already done and not have to worry about the cost. But ne'er mind eh, it's all about the lifestyle.

Sometimes, don't you think life is just too damn short to stuff a mushroom.

And yes I could make them myself but sometimes (actually, most of the time) I just don't have the energy.
